Margaret Renwick
Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Margaret Renwick passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Bethell Hospice in Inglewood.
Margaret was the daughter of the late Robert and Jane Bannatyne and the devoted wife of Craig Renwick, with whom she shared 56 wonderful years of marriage, built on love, family, and companionship.
In 1981, Margaret, Craig, and their three daughters moved to Houston, Texas, where they made lifelong friends and created many lasting memories. They later returned to Scotland in 1983, before immigrating to Canada in 1988.
Margaret’s greatest pride was her grandchildren: Sydney, Dana, the late Caitlyn, Zoe, Phoenix, Luke, and Matthew, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was a proud and devoted mother to Karen Urion (David), Elaine Jones (Simon Cox), and Lorna Szabo (Michael). Margaret is lovingly remembered by her siblings Robert (Eleanor) and Ian (Grace), as well as by many extended family members and dear friends.
Margaret loved reading, visiting Disney, rug hooking, shopping, but most of all spending time with her family. She was endlessly proud of her girls and never missed an opportunity to share stories about them. If you were looking for Margaret, chances are she was out walking or watching a romantic movie with her best friend, Craig.
Friends are welcome to gather at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m., with a private family interment to follow.
In memory of Margaret, donations may be made to Cancer Assistance Halton Hills or Bethell Hospice, with heartfelt gratitude to both organizations for their care and support.
From Scotland to the United States of America to Canada, Margaret carried her love for family wherever life led her, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered and treasured for generations.
