HOLMAN, Mable Annie (Butcher)
Suddenly on January 15, 2018, in her 101st year. Daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Butcher. Widow of Leland Holman, mother of the late Floyd Holman. Predeceased by her siblings, Frank, Wilfred, Jean, Pearl, Helen, Gertrude, Norma and Pauline. Survived by her brother Donald and several nieces and nephews. Mother-in-law to Nancy. Cherished grandmother ("Nana") of Barry (Annette), Dale (Leslie), and Timothy; great-grandmother of Ryan (Lisa), Tabitha (Sean), Lindsey (Ryan), Cory (Christine), Kelly, Lauren (Scott), and Taylor; great-great-grandmother of Madison, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Jackson, Dylan, Logan, and Charles. Mable was born January 24, 1917 in South Vale, Colchester County, N.S. She moved to Ontario in 1957, spending 40 years in the Cedar Grove (Twin Pines) trailer park in Mississauga before moving to Georgetown. She worked many years at Woolworth's. She was an avid Leaf fan and took her grandsons to many games. She was known for her fantastic memory, quick wit, carefully tended tomato plants, amazing baked goods and her love of family. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Avenue, Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Friday January 19 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Memorial service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Cremation.
