Lorne Wesley Hunter

Hunter, Lorne Wesley- Born Nov. 13, 1923 passed away July 10, 2017 peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Barbara. Father of Gordon (Mary Grace); grandpa to Matthew (Kristina) and Kate and great grandpa to Dominic and Lexi. Brother-in-law to Marion. Predeceased by siblings Marjorie Westfall (Ivan), John, and Christina Golden (Tom). Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by Marley Backman and her family. Lorne was a life-long resident of Halton Hills. He served in the Service Corps during WW2 and fought in France and Belgium, participated in the liberation of Holland and was part of the Canadian forces that marched into Germany. In Georgetown, Lorne was employed at Domtar Paper Mill until its closing and then at Mold Masters. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Monday July 17th from 3:00 pm until time of his celebration of life service held in the chapel at 4:00 pm.
