BASTEDO, Linda
It is with profound sadness that the family of Linda Bastedo announce her passing on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
Reunited with her doting husband and best friend Floyd (2010), Linda will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Elaine Bradshaw (Craig), Carrie Bastedo, Darlene McConnachie (Keith), and Tracy Emmerson (Kent). Cherished grandmother of Emma, Ben, Andrew, Andre, Crissy (Fred), Tyler (Jennifer), Sarah (Andrew), Samantha (Jay), and Jason (Emily). Proud great-grandmother of Ayesha, Faris, Newt, Luke, Lincoln, Dominic, Liam, Ethan, Evan, Kyle, Dean, Jaxon, and Brooklynn.
Linda will also be fondly remembered by her sister Liz McBain (Bill) and brother Gord Bottoms, and by her extended family, many dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and generosity.
A longtime resident of Southampton, Linda found great happiness living near the water and treasured the beauty and peacefulness of the lakeshore community she called home. Creative and artistic, she enjoyed painting and drawing and found comfort and inspiration in books, remaining an avid reader throughout her life. Linda was proud of her Scottish heritage and carried a deep appreciation for her roots throughout the years.
Linda dedicated many years to her career with Varian (CPI), where she formed countless friendships and earned the respect of colleagues through her strong work ethic, warmth, and genuine nature.
Above all, Linda's greatest joy was her family. Her love, guidance, and unwavering support created a lasting legacy that will continue through the generations that follow her. She will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, gentle spirit, and the deep love she shared so freely with those around her.
Family and friends will be received at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Friday, June 5, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service.
