Amodeo, Leona Ann Sophia Martha (nee Miernicke)- On February 26th, 1916, a star flashed across the heavens above Windsor, Ontario, and the special soul of Leona Sophia Martha Miernicke was born a baby daughter to the Miernickes. Today that bright star is shining in Heaven. Peacefully, in her sleep on Monday August 29th, 2016 at the Guelph General Hospital. Leona, in her 101st year, wife of the late Tony Amodeo. Loving mother of Sandy, Mary and her husband Drew and the late Lucia. Loved grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her 2 sisters and 1 brother. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Wednesday from 4:00 -7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church (14400 Argyll Rd., Georgetown) on Thursday September 1st, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown.
