Laurie Ann Sanderson

Laurie Sanderson, a beloved member of our community, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024, at the Bethell Hospice after a heroic battle with Glioblastoma. Laurie was known for her kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her presence brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Laurie was the loving wife of Les for 49 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Laurie was a devoted mother to her sons, Adam (Erin) and Chad (Emma). She cherished her role as a grandmother to Benjamin, Tyler, Miller, Dylan, Emma, Cara, and Weston, delighting in every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Laurie is also survived by her siblings Michael (Kimberley) Raine and Danny (Patricia) Salem, and was predeceased by her brother Mike Salem. Her extended family included brothers- and sisters-in-law Janie (the late John), Bill (Maureen), Donnie (Marilyn), Bryan (Carole), Sandra (the late Bev), Glenda (the late Len), John (Gloria), Rosalie (Rick), and Howard. She was predeceased by her brothers in law Bob and his wife Carolyn, and Jim (Pat). Laurie was dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Laurie dedicated 43 years of her life to nursing, and was a highly respected member in the nursing community. She will be missed by all of her friends and colleagues.

Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Friday, June 21, 2024 between 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will take place in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Erin Union Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Erin Agricultural Centre, 184 Main Street, Erin. To honour Laurie’s memory, the family requests that donations be made to the Erin Agricultural Society or to Bethell Hospice. Laurie's legacy of kindness, compassion, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
