Katica "Kathy" Babić

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Katica "Kathy" Babic announces her peaceful passing at the Georgetown Hospital on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the age of 84.

Beloved wife of Slavko for an extraordinary 64 years, Kathy was a devoted and loving mother to Elvira Miletic and Damir "Danny" Babic (Jadranka). Known fondly as Baka, she cherished her grandchildren Mark, Amanda, Matthew, Lukas, and Kalyna (Fabio), and as Prabaka, her great-granddaughter Milia.

Kathy is preceded in death by her four siblings, Ankica, Marica, Jure and Barka, but their memory lived on in her heart. She will be deeply missed by her extended family across Canada and Hrvatska, as well as by all whose lives she touched with her kindness, strength, and unwavering love.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Monday, January 13, 2025, between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m., with prayers beginning at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

Kathy's life was a testament to faith, family and love, and she will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Kathy’s memory. May she rest in eternal peace.
