TAKAHASHI, Kathleen Sachiye Florence (nee Okawa)
September 18, 1928 - November 30, 2014
It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of Kathleen following a brief illness. Born in Vancouver BC, Kathleen was one of 3 children of Toku and Nuinosuke, predeceased by her brother Frank (Chisato) and is survived by her sister Theresa (George Funamoto). Beloved wife of Akira John, loving mother to George (Susan Glover) and Robert; and treasured and doting grandmother to Laura (Jackie Skinner), Bryan and Jeffrey. Kathleen was a vibrant person who was a leader in Catholic education first in Hamilton and then in Toronto for more than 3 decades. A lover of merriment, travel, family and friends, Kathleen was the centre of fun, laughter and graciousness. Gratitude for the care provided by Drs. Paul and Deb Zeni, Dr. Van Bendegem, and the staff at the Bennett Health Care Centre and the Georgetown Hospital. Friends may call at Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road (N. of Maple Avenue), Georgetown L7G 4S6 on Friday December 12, from 2-8 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at held on Saturday December 13, at 11 am at Holy Cross Catholic Parish, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown, L7G 0B9. Reception to immediately follow in church hall. Internment at a later date. Remembrances in Kathleen's honour can be made to Ontario Branch of The Lifesaving Society, Bennett Health Care Centre or Georgetown Hospital Foundation.
