Kathleen Newlands

Newlands, Kathleen Mary- Peacefully, on Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at Allendale, Milton. Kathleen, in her 97th year, wife of the late Major John Newlands. Loving mother of Patricia (David), Barbara (Richard), Jane and Catherine (the late Craig). Loved grandmother of Amanda, Bryan, Cameron, Brendan, Sarah, Katie and great-grandmother of Emma. Predeceased by her 2 brothers Terry and Ed. Kathleen served as a Lieutenant in the Canadian Woman's Army Corps during World War 2. One of her duties was to help war brides in England, prepare to come to Canada. After marriage, she was happily a stay-at-home mom for her four daughters. In her 60's she took on a part time job working in historical houses in Toronto. She had a great love for crafts and definitely had a green thumb. A memorial service will be held at Allendale, Milton at a later date. Cremation has taken place. In memory contributions to the Willow Foundation would be appreciated.
