Obituary for Kathleen Victoria Ballantine

It is with deep love and sadness that the family announces the passing of Kathleen Victoria Ballantine, who went peacefully with family by her side on September 29, 2025, at Brampton Civic Hospital.

Born to the late Sidney and Eleanor Stockley on November 6, 1932, Kathleen was the beloved wife of the late Fred Ballantine, with whom she now rests after more than 40 years apart. In later years, mom found a wonderful friendship in “Les” (the late Leslie Wilkinson) and his family Clive, Bill, Lorraine Teeter (Bob), nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted mother to Victoria Hennessey (the late Guy), James Ballantine, Marvetta Rideout (Rick), Dalton Ballantine, Sarah Corden, Ella-Marie Baker (Mike), Donald Ballantine, and Janie Ballantine (Owen).

Cherished grandmother to Richard, Anisa, Kelly, Stephanie, Brian (Niko), Michael, Scott (Shannon), Michelle (Darryl), Nicholas (Matthew), Steven (Kristen), Ross (Alicia), Thomas, Rebecca, Mitchell (Kailee), Sydney (Jobie), Alexandra (Matt), and Melanie (Paul). She was also dearly loved by 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Kathleen will be deeply missed by her sister Mary Ellen Jepson, as well as by many nieces and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the C.C.U. and Rehab “A” at Brampton Civic Hospital for their compassion and care.

A woman of strong faith, Kathleen placed family above all else. She also enjoyed time at the casino, had a fondness for animals—whether squirrels, skunks, or birds—and loved her trips to British Columbia to go mining. She will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, and her unwavering love for those around her.

Visitation will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

Donations in Kathleen’s memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation, SPCA, Shriners or Diabetes Association.
