Juris Reginald Kudrasovs

July 7, 1952 — July 16, 2025

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we mourn the passing of Juris Reginald Kudrasovs following a brief and valiant battle with cancer on July 16, 2025. A beautiful soul who is gone too soon. Juri will be missed by his wife of 48 years, Pamela (Schmidt), and children, Chelsey and Justin (Ashley), and son-in-law Michael Bristow. Juri found great joy in his grandchildren Ella, Cameryn and Markus and now joins his daughter Tera (Bristow) who predeceased him in 2016.

Juri was born in Brampton on July 7, 1952, to parents Alexander and Elza Kudrasovs (predeceased) who immigrated from Riga, Latvia to settle in Canada. He was their only child, and he was very proud of his Latvian heritage. He graduated from Wilfred Laurier University in Economics and began a career in banking which spanned over 40 years, culminating with the Bank of Nova Scotia.

Juri had a passion for playing various sports which included hockey, soccer, fastball, golf, and pickleball. He found such joy in sharing his skills and nurtured many young children and adults through coaching. He played hockey for the Kitchener Rangers OHA, Toledo Goaldiggers IHL (Turner Cup 1975) and Georgetown Raiders OHA-Sr (Hardy Cup 1982). His one true passion was that of fishing whether at the cottage on the Trent River or with his besties on the Rideau, anywhere in search of the big bass. Member of Mississauga Bassmasters, conservation and teaching the young how to fish.

Juri was a positive person with a grin, a twinkle in his eye and a heart of gold. The friendships he established and knowledge he shared along life’s journey will remain with all whose lives he touched.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Streetsville Arena, Hazel McCallion Hall, 335 Church Street, Streetsville from 2pm - 6 pm.
