Julia Poirier

Poirier, Julia (February 1, 1937-December 17, 2013)- Surrounded by her family, Julia passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 17, 2013 at the Georgetown Hospital, at the age of 76, after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Dearly loved mother of Don (Charlene), Janet (Chris) and James. Predeceased by her loving husband Leo. Loving grandmother of Emily, Holly, Alandra, Madison, Mikaela and Morgan. Predeceased by her grandson Philip Jeffrey "P.J." Loved and cherished by her sister and brothers Gemma Aucoin, Andre and Michael Poirier and many friends and relatives in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Marie Luce, Theresa, Charlie, Lucy, Patrice, Eugene and Alphonse. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and volunteers; Dr's. Paul Zeni and Razvi and all the wonderful nurses in C.O.U. and Complex Continuing Care at the Georgetown Hospital. Your support was very much appreciated. Julia was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, whose memories will be cherished forever. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church (14400 Argyll Rd., Georgetown) on Friday December 27, 2013 at 10:00 am.
