Pires, José Urbano "Joe" - Peacefully, with his family by his side on Wednesday October 9, 2013 at the Georgetown Hospital. Joe, in his 86th year, gone to be with his beloved wife Maria (2007). Loving father of Lucia and her husband Ken Flynn and Bill and his wife Mary. Proud and loving grandfather "Vavô" of Ken and his wife Suzie, Joe, Josh, Jordan, Jason and Maria and great-grandfather "Visavô" of Cordelia and Kaiden. Survived by his sisters Gloria Almeida and Maria de Deus Pires. Predeceased by his sisters Maria José da Ponte and Fatima Domingos. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for Joe so compassionately. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Monday October 14th from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Rd., on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown.
