John Holland

Holland, John Wesley- In loving memory of John, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23rd, 2015. John is survived by his children J. Bradley Holland and Cindy Harris, daughter in law Jean Wong, ‎his grandchildren Ryan and Owen Holland and Jordan and Samantha Harris and his brother Ray (Connie) and their three sons. John was born October 18, 1935 and was a graduate of the University of Toronto Schools, the University of Toronto (Chemical Engineering) and Western University (Masters of Business Administration). John became a life member of the Lions Foundation of Canada in 1997 and was awarded the Helen Keller Fellowship Award by Lions Homes for Deaf People in 2001. John called Georgetown home and immersed himself in as many activities as he was able and the Seniors Centre became his home away from home. John equally enjoyed wintering in Florida with his community of friends and characters who like John sought refuge from the cold! The family is grateful to the staff and care givers from Mountainview Residence, Georgetown and Oakville Trafalgar hospitals and Dr. Akshay Bagai and the Cardiology programs at St. Michael's Hospital for the compassionate and wonderful care John received. In accordance with John's wishes, following cremation a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Georgetown Hospital Foundation (www.georgetownhospitalfoundation.ca) would be greatly appreciated. Our father, grandfather, brother and friend will be truly missed.
