Peacefully on Thursday August 23rd, 2018 at the Georgetown Hospital. Joan, in her 99th year, wife of the late Bill Scannell. Loving mother of Douglas, Brian (Judy), Bruce (Vicky), Heather Thompson (Len) and William (Wilma) and the late Richard. Loved mother-in-law of June. Cherished Nana of Steven, Andrew, Mark, Michael, Adin, David, Emily, Mairin, Brent, Kathryn, Evan and Will and Great-Nana of 9 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister Alice and by her brother Ernest. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday August 28th at 11:00 am.
