James "Jim" Robert Stamp

June 1, 1948 — January 11, 2026

Stamp, Jim (James Robert) slipped away peacefully into the evening hours on Sunday January 11 2026, at the Georgetown Hospital, in his 77th year. Loving husband to Nery Quintero Hernandez and her sons Daniel and Andres Jimenez, widow of the late Shirley Stamp (nee Hancock), dedicated father of Stacey, Davey, Lyndsay, and Kristy Stamp. Grandfather to Shane and Joey Fortin, Cesar Jimenez, and Lilyana DaRosa. Predeceased parents are Lela MacDonald and Dave Stamp and brother Dave Stamp the 2nd. Surviving sisters Evelyn Zanatta (Stamp) and Patty Blanchette (Stamp). Beloved brother in-law, uncle, cousin, friend, and co-worker.

Jim grew up in many areas of Georgetown. Started a budding self employed business and moved to Brampton, where he then started his family. After some time Jim and family returned to Georgetown and laid roots. Jim was well known in both communities for his contributions to baseball, hockey, boxing clubs, fall fairs and events like the crazy boat races. Jim spent many years volunteering with the Big Brothers of Canada program. Jim also played a huge role in the horseshoes sport community, winning multiple titles in the Ontario Championships. Jim the inventor, never stopped creating from modes of transportation, to tools and equipment, to playful toys and games. Once appearing on Dragon's Den with his ponyshoes innovation.

Jim devoted much of his life putting back into all communities through his work contracts with the city of Brampton and the Town of Halton Hills, and with Organizations such as the Sheppard Centre and many Hospitals in the GTA.

Jim always had a mind of wonder, a heart for adventure, and the will of a master. He enjoyed playing the guitar and learning the violin. Hunting, fishing, camping, and many simply ways of living. Jim longed to sail on the open water into the unknown, his Peter Pan dream.

Our last good bye will be a quiet and private send off at Jones Funeral Home on Tuesday January 13 2026. The family wish to express gratitude for the love and support of extended family and community residents. A special thanks to the outstanding care that was consistently provided by the Georgetown Hospital and its incredible staff.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.
