On Saturday, June 15, 2013, Jakob (Jack) Geert Fokkens died peacefully in Brampton, Ontario in the presence of his loved ones. Jack was born in Ter Apel, Groningen, the Netherlands on September 25, 1931. He emigrated to Canada with his parents and brother, Bob (all predeceased), in September 1952. Devoted and beloved husband of Jane (nee DeBoer) for 56 years. Dear father of Henriette (Paul), Janet (John), John (Karen), Karen (Andrew) and Ingrid (David). Loving grandpa of 17 and Opa of 7 little ones. Long-time employee of Brampton Brick. Funeral service was held on June 19, 2013, at the Georgetown Christian Reformed Church followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
