In Loving Memory of John 'Jack' Barnes

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, John 'Jack' Barnes, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on March 23rd, at the age of 79.

Born May 30th, 1944, in Milton, Ontario, to parents Evelyn Walsh and Horace Barnes, Jack was a cherished member of the Halton community where he lived his entire life. Throughout his days, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and most of all, spending time on his boat. His presence always left those around him with fond memories.

In the arms of his loving wife, Mabel 'Mae' Ross, Jack found his best friend. Married in 1966, they built a life and family together, raising 2 sons: Brent and Michael Barnes. Jack was a devoted husband and father, and his family was the cornerstone of his life. He instilled in them values of honesty, integrity, and hard work, leaving a lasting impression on their souls.

Jack's legacy continues through the generations he cherished dearly. His grandchildren, Breanne, Marissa, Quinten, and Ayden Barnes, were his pride and joy. He leaves behind a life of love and cherished memories within them.

Beyond his roles as a husband, father, and grandfather, Jack was a friend to many, a source of genuine friendship, laughter, and storytelling. His memory will forever linger in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the impact he had on each of us. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-5 pm on Thursday, March 28th, at Jones Funeral Home.
