McIlveen, Irene (née Hamada)
Passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton on June 25, 2017 after a long illness. Only daughter of the late Hiko (George) and Hanako (Hannah) Hamada of Norval, she is survived by husband William (Bill) McIlveen; son Eli and his partner Sean Howard; brother Maki of Scarborough and his wife Mary; brother Gen of Osaka, Japan; and brother John of Vancouver and his wife Phyllis. Predeceased by brother Jun of Vancouver. Loving aunt of Jeff and Kimi Hamada of Vancouver. A talented artist and nature photographer, she was interested in all aspects of the environment. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation will take place immediately. A 'Celebration of Life' gathering will be held later this summer with details to be provided to friends and acquaintances at a later date.
