Hugh Cook

Cook, Hugh Francis - Passed peacefully with his family at his bedside on Thursday February 6th, 2014 at the Georgetown Hospital. Hugh, in his 72nd year, beloved husband of Gloria (nee MacGibbon). Loving father of Gail McCracken (Peter) and Rob Cook (Amanda). Proud grandfather of Vanessa and Morgan McCracken and Jayme and Sophia Cook. Dear brother of Edward Cook (Genevieve) and Marcella Slade (James). Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Bessie Cook. Hugh was born December 13, 1942 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia and moved to Ontario in 1964. He had a long career in banking spending 29 years with the Toronto Dominion Bank and 6 years with Manulife Financial Bank. We would like to thank Doctor Ng and staff at Runnymede Health Care Center where he was a patient for 1 and 1/2 years, staff at Georgetown Extendicare and also Doctor Takhar and staff at Georgetown Hospital where he received such wonderful care and also Doctor JS Rodgerson our long time family Doctor. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown, (905)877-3631 on Sunday from 2-4 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday February 10th at 11:00 am. Cremation. In memory contributions to the Georgetown Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
