Grant Stephen Rolston Unexpectedly at home on March 3, 2026, at the age of 66.

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Grant Stephen Rolston — a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, loyal son and brother, and a friend to many.

Beloved husband of Alona Solomon, Grant was her greatest fan, her steady hand, and her favourite surprise-maker. Sweet, loving, and quick with a joke, he had a way of making everyday moments special. Together they built a life filled with laughter, music, and unwavering love.

Cherished son of Shirley Rolston and the late Arnold Rolston. Proud and loving father of Amy (Damiean), Christine (Jonathan), and Jacob. Grant beamed with pride over his grandchildren — Tamera, Elliot, Alexis, Marissa, Kyla, and Sadie — and delighted in his role as great-grandfather to little Bentley. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Sue and Ian and their families.

Grant grew up in Brampton, where countless summer nights were spent playing road hockey with neighbourhood friends — the familiar shout of “Car!” followed by “Game on!” echoing through the streets. His love of sports never faded. A true armchair athlete, if a game was on, Grant was watching — hockey, baseball, tennis — and he never missed a chance to talk about his sports hero was Wayne Gretzky, and like so many Canadians, he admired greatness on the ice.

When he wasn’t watching the game, you could often find Grant with a “fishing rod” in hand, “line in the water”, perfectly content in quiet anticipation (Translation – Playing Cards with the Boys)

Grant dedicated 42 years to O-I Canada, where he worked his way up through the ranks. Over the decades, he touched nearly every aspect of the business — a testament to his work ethic, loyalty, and all-around capability. He was respected not only for what he knew, but for how he treated people.

A lifelong rock and roll fan, Grant turned up the volume for the bands he loved, from The Rolling Stones to Led Zeppelin. The soundtrack of his life was loud, proud, and unforgettable — just like him.

Above all else, Grant was our everything. A steady presence, a warm hug, a quick wit, and a heart that loved deeply and completely.

Friends will be welcomed to visit at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, on Saturday March 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Those unable to attend may view the Livestream by following the link below.
