Glenda Hughes (nee Barrett)
Glenda Hughes passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6th, 2026 surrounded by her adoring family, friends, and caregivers. Glenda is survived by her devoted partner John Hill, her loving children Chris (Andrea) and Vicki (Bryan), stepchildren Andy (Robyn) and Matthew (Jessica), and by her greatest joy, her five grandchildren, Oliver, Benjamin, Ella, Jay and Finn.
Glenda was the original spark behind Hills Team Real Estate group, sharing her passion for the industry for over 40 years with family, clients, and friends. During her decades in real estate, she helped countless families find new homes in and around Georgetown, many of whom called on Glenda many times when their needs changed.
She was well known and loved in Georgetown, and will be remembered for her infectious laugh, sense of humour, positivity, generosity, elegance, and readiness for a gathering of any kind. Glenda was a fiercely loyal friend with a large and vibrant circle. She and John travelled extensively to Mexico and abroad but also loved staying close to home. They spent countless evenings on their deck, hosting friends and neighbours with wine and cheese, surrounded by their gorgeous gardens. Although, Glenda was never happier than when her gardens were full of boisterous grandchildren climbing trees, learning to ride bikes, and playing baseball.
The family would like to thank Glenda’s incredible home-care and nursing teams of Jodi, Christine, Madeira, Maria, Jennifer, Michelle and Jill for the exceptional care and comfort they provided to Glenda over the last few years. A special thanks to Dr. Khanna, Dr. Tepper and Ashley for their compassion and gentleness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgetown Hospital, or to the Trillium Foundation.
Please join us to share some memories and laughs in celebration of Glenda's full and beautiful life.
