Giuseppina Fargiorgio

May 19, 1940 — May 7, 2025

It is with broken hearts, that the family of Giuseppina Fargiorgio announce the passing of their wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother at the age of 84.

Beloved wife to Quirino for 63 years; loving Mama to Marie (Eric), Rose (Bob) and Patty; cherished Nonna to Amanda (Justin), Christina (Brandon), Paige, Madelyn (Jack) and Noah(Jessica); and adored Super-Nonna to great grandchildren Addison and Julien.

Giuseppina is survived by her sister Giovanna in Australia, and her many adored nieces and nephews and many friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Vincenzo and Maria Civita, brothers Pasquale, Pietro and sister Giulia in Italy.

Born in the tiny town of Itri, Italy, as the oldest daughter she had many responsibilities and worked hard from a very young age taking care of younger siblings and many farm chores. At 27 she immigrated to Canada with her young family without any money or english skills and never knowing the struggles and sacrifices that lay ahead. She was a devoted mother who always worked full time outside the home yet diligently took such loving care of her family, home and gardens. For decades she dedicated herself to consistently writing letters to Italy and Australia, clinging to the unbreakable bond with her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews; and would delight at receiving their letters in return. Proficient at most all things she tried her hand at such as sewing, crocheting, cooking and gardening, all labors of love for her family. Undoubtedly, above all else, as "Nonna", Giuseppina was never more joyous than when surrounded by her precious grandkids and great grandkids (and fur babies).

Our profound gratitude is extended to the staff of Bennett Village Retirement Home for their compassionate care.

Her family and friends will always remember her as warm, generous, loving, and such a wonderful cook. We were so incredibly lucky to have her, and she will forever be missed.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. to be followed by interment at Milton Evergreen Cemetery.

Your kindness and support mean the world to us, and we truly appreciate any donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada or Urban Tails Animal Rescue.
