Giuseppe " Joseph" Floridia

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Giuseppe "Joseph" Floridia of Georgetown who left us at the age of 82 on January 8, 2025 at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital.

Born on April 19, 1942 in Sicily to Salvatore Floridia and Anna Maria Coppa. Giuseppe's Father was a Soldier at war at the time of his birth, sadly never making it home to reunite with his wife and Son.

From a young age he had a love for cutting hair and wanted to be a stylist/barber. By the age of 18 Giuseppe was already a licensed Barber and owner of a Salon.

In 1963 Giuseppe left Sicily for Toronto, Canada marrying his beautiful bride Concetta (nee Schembri) who was also born in Sicily where both families knew each other from childhood. Together they had three children.

Giuseppe had strong work ethics always putting his family first. He made a promise to his family upon leaving Sicily that he would be sure they would join him one day in Canada as well. That promise was kept, he was able to sponsor his Mother, Step Father and seven siblings. Giuseppe was so proud when he became a Canadian Citizen.

Giuseppe along with his wife and their three children made Georgetown their home in 1979. Soon after Giuseppe also known as "Joseph the Barber" opened his own business, Joseph's Hairstyling in which he owned and operated for over 40 years.

He will be forever missed and remembered by his beloved wife Concetta of 62 years, children Salvatore (Elaine), Anna Maria and Letizia (Marc), his grandchildren Amadeo and Joseph.

Cremation has taken place, a private service will be held. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
