Georgette Milliere (nee Gladu) 1935-2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Georgette Odille Patricia Milliere (nee Gladu) announce her passing on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the age of 89. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Willliam George (Bill) Milliere, daughter Cynthia Ann, son John, brother Leo and two sisters Rose and Anita. Georgette was the devoted mother of Paul (Linda), Bryon (Frances), Mark (Laurie) and cherished grandmother of Matthew, Katie (Cameron), Pierce, Michael, and Nathaniel. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

Georgette was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on January 4th, 1935, to parents Joseph Gladu and Ursuline Coutu. In her late teens, after graduating from St. Mary’s Academy in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she moved to Brampton, Ontario where she met her husband, Bill Milliere. Together, they owned and operated Milliere TV on Wesleyan Street, Georgetown, Ontario for over 50 years.

Georgette was a woman of deep faith and fully lived her Catholic faith within the various ministries at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church and within the wider Georgetown community. She was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League for over 60 years.

Friends and family will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, Ontario on Sunday, January 28th, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown on Monday, January 29th, 2024, at 11:00 am. A luncheon will be held in Cote Hall following the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills are greatly appreciated.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported Georgette during the past few years; the staff at Edgewater Senior Living Retirement home, Georgetown Community Hospital, the pharmacists at Youngs Pharmacy , Dr. Zeni and especially her close friends . Your generosity and kindness are deeply appreciated.
