Gail Ruth Foster, beloved wife of 53 years to Ken Foster, and mother to Michael, Jamie, and Jeffrey Foster. Daughter of Ruth and Don Fritzley, and beloved sister of Allan, Jerry, Terry, and Brad Fritzley. Also loving grandma to Kyla, Daniella, Isabella and Jason. Gail loved seeing the kids grow up, and keeping up with there lives and fit into the new styles in clothing that they said was cool.
Gail passed away surrounded by family and friends at her home in Georgetown on 06 March 2026, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Goderich Ontario in 1954 to Don and Ruth Fritzley and was fond of her hometown especially when she was risking it all jumping from the silos into the lake. She spent most of her life helping others at the expense of herself, even in the end. She ended her career at 70 at Young’s Pharmacy in the cancer care department helping make them feel more normal while they underwent their treatment.
She was a devoted mother and was always there for her family when they needed her. She always said their birth changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided.
Gail was known for her holiday traditions, especially coming over with a Santa sac full of toys for the kids. Like the Santa stocking she brought Michael home from the hospital. Gail's table was always full and always had enough food to feed an army. Her decor around the house was always memorable for Ken and there three boys growing up.
She loved it by the water and looked forward every year to her week at the cottage with family and friends. Spending time around the fire was especially special as the stories always came out after a few glasses of wine, and she liked her wine that’s for sure. In fact, she liked her wine so much, that it always ended up on her shirt or spilt on the floor/walls. She was always the life of the party and always had the biggest smile and warm greeting for everyone.
Gail took special joy in looking after her parents in their senior years and we will all remember the surprise Fritzley family gatherings at Grandpas retirement home in the fall of 2025. We had all planned a separate visit, and as it so happens, everyone showed up at the same time. We took a great family photo of us all in grandpa’s (her father) room that will be remembered for a long time to come. Gail had been crafting and painting for over 40 years, and her art lives on in the house she made a home.
She loved finding old furniture on marketplace and bringing it home and restoring each piece with love and care. By the time she was done with each piece, it would look like it was brand new. She painted and sanded away at each piece until she was satisfied with the way it looked. Never finished until it was restored to perfection. She was a super shopper, so she knew what quality was when she saw it.
She loved to travel, whether it be with family or friends, it didn’t matter who she was with, she always made it a great trip. Whether it was getting on a plane, or going for a road trip, she was always happiest when she was on the go.
Gail was a strong, vibrant, and loving woman who will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched. Thank you for loving the way you did, when anyone sees sparkles, they will think of you.
You will be missed very deeply.
