Gabrielle Gabet

June 8, 1927 - June 15, 2021 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gabrielle Gabet, in her 94th year, on Tuesday June 15, 2021 at the Christie Oaks Nursing Home in Acton. Born on a farm in Belgium, she survived wartime occupation and eventually moved to Canada with her new husband Norbert. They were together more than 50 years until his passing in 2002. They raised four sons; Hedwig (Janice), Gary (Elaine), Gregory (Tracey) and Marnix (Silke), who gave her 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was a diehard Leaf's fan and a devout Catholic as a member of Holy Cross Parish for 54 years. She enjoyed working at Simpsons in Toronto and Brampton and made life long friends there. Later in life she stayed in touch by telephone (very old school) with her many relatives and friends in Canada, Belgium and United States always with a good sense of humor. Due to Covid restrictions a church service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
