PHIPPS, Frank Thomas - died peacefully in his 85th year at Extendicare in Georgetown on Monday, April 11, 2016. With his family by his side, he ended his lengthy journey with Alzheimers. Born June 27, 1931 in London, England, Frank, Barbara and their two children immigrated to Canada in 1966. He cofounded Kafko Pools in 1970 where he was President and CEO for more than 35 years. Frank was an avid boater and very involved in the Canadian Power Squadron achieving the rank of Canadian Vice-Commander. He will be remembered for his passion for ballroom and Scottish country dance, his love for golf, the mischievous sparkle in his eyes and his love for his family. Frank is survived by Barbara, his wife of 62 years; daughter Deborah-Anne Ferguson and her late husband Fraser; son Nigel and his wife Shelley. Adored grandfather of Christie, Stuart, Holly (Ryan), Chelsea, Madison and the late Adam. Beloved brother of Jessie Padmore (Alan) and uncle of Alasdair and Iain. Our appreciation to all the wonderful caregivers at Extendicare and a special thank you to Jane Leach for her years of care and kindness. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Thursday, April 14th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church (60 Guelph Street, Georgetown) on Friday, April 15th at 11:00 am.
