HOWARD, Francis (Frank) Joseph - WWII Veteran - Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment - 5th Division
Passed away suddenly, Friday, October 25th at the Sunnybrook Veterans Residence at the age of 94. Beloved husband of Joyce (deceased) and dearly loved Father of Cindy (Chuck), Susan (Jim), Penny and late sons-in-law Leonce Paulin and Tinny Van Den Thillart. Dear brother of predeceased siblings; Vera, Winnie, Sam, Nora and Ellen. Brother-in-law to Tom (Maindonald) and his wife Norma of Picton, and Verna of Toronto. Cherished Grandfather of Wendy, Tammy, Marty, Sherrie (DJ), Michelle (Mike), Lisa (Phil), Denis (Janet), Stephan (Amanda), and Great Grandfather of Lea, Alex, Mercedes, Olivia, Ayden, Emily, Jacob, Jacob and Laila. He will also be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad was a proud Sergeant of the Royal Canadian Army, 1939-45 serving the majority of his time in Italy along the Gothic Line. He was an avid golfer who loved to play the piano and organ. He was known for his infectious laugh and quick humorous comments and loved spending time with his family. We are very thankful for the continued assistance provided by Veterans Affairs Canada and a very special thank you to all the phenomenal people (doctors, nurses and volunteers) of the K2C Veterans Residence for their special attention and kindness shown to Dad during his stay. Your generosity and ever smiling welcoming faces will never be forgotten. At Frank's request, cremation has already taken place and a small family service will be scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations to the 'Sunnybrook Veterans Centre' would be greatly appreciated by the family. Thank you.
