The family, with much sadness, announces the passing of Eugene, 90 years of age, on Thursday February 29, 2024 at his home in Georgetown. Eugene was the son of the late Eugen Sr. and Martha (Rosowski) Kalwies. Beloved husband of Ann for 66 years. Loving father of Brian (Catherine) and David. Loved grandfather of Alyssia (Daniel) Rogers , Adam and Matthew. Proud great-grandfather to Dakota. Eugene was the third child of four siblings. Eugene is also predeceased by his sisters Brunhilde Gresham (1969), Edith Crandall (William) (2020) and Howard Kalwies (Lois) (2007). Eugene was a very accomplished self-taught pianist and painter. Eugene will be forever remembered by his family for his love of the outdoors, skiing, golf, and classical music. Eugene was never happier than when he was surrounded by his family and his love will live on through them.

As per Eugene's request, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
