Erica Marguerite Thompson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Erica Marguerite Thompson (Thorne) on June 2, 2024, just shy of her 95th birthday.

Beloved wife of the late Dr. Charles Alan Thompson (2016).

Predeceased by her brother Jack Thorne.

Devoted mother to Paul (Henriëtte Fokkens), Doug (Joy Gwillam), Don (Lan Lai-Minh), Jennifer Greenfied (Chris), and Cheryl (Joe South).

Loving Gramma to Eric (Kim) , Adrienne (Vas), Laura (Clarence), Jenah (Ethan), Mitchell (Amanda), Kim-Ly, Doan-Trang, Minh-Tâm, Mai- Liên, Cameron, Tori (Ross), and Chas.

Proud Great Gramma (GG) to Rowan, Gabbi, Tiana, Charlie and Jacob.

Erica was inducted into the McMaster University Athletic Hall of Fame as a multi- sport athlete.

She used her drive and energy toward volunteering for her community.

She received a Provincial Service Award for her forty plus years of work with the Georgetown Red Cross, including a term as President. In her later years she served as president of the Georgetown Lawn Bowling Club.

As per Erica’s wishes there will be a private family service, and no visitation. In lieu of flowers donations to Heart & Stroke or Georgetown Hospital would be appreciated.
