Elizabeth Jones (nee Pilcher) - passed peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Milton Hospital. Elizabeth was the loving wife to the late Peter Jones and mother to Chris (Susan), Marke, Robin, Tim (Tammy) Jones. She was a proud grandmother to Whitney, Jasmine, Paige, Oliver, Max, Montana, Tatum and Spencer. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews in England.
Elizabeth will be remembered through her passion for the arts, be it painting, photography, decoupage or theatre, but it was her gracious, proper English way and her dedication to family and friends that will be missed the most, along with her gentle laughter.
As a young girl in Britain she worked for the RAF as a Radar Operator where she would meet, fall in love with and marry Peter. After having their first son Christopher they moved to Hong Kong where they were stationed for three years. In 1959 they immigrated to Canada and settled into Georgetown to grow and raise their family of four young boys, Chris, Marke, Robin and Tim. After Peter's passing in 1993, Elizabeth remained in the Georgetown area.
Friends will be received at the JS Jones and Son Funeral Home at 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Saturday, October 17 from 1-2 and a celebration of Liz's life will be held from 2-3 with a small reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Milton District Hospital or Tim's Ride to Conquer Cancer Campaign in Memory of Elizabeth Jones.
