It is with heavy hearts that we advise of the peaceful passing of our mom, Eleanor Joyce Robertson on May 7, 2025.
After a lengthy battle with dementia, we take great comfort in knowing that she is all healed and at peace with Jesus, her Lord and Saviour. Despite what dementia stole, she never lost her beautiful smile and gentle spirit.
Mom was the only and cherished child of Bernice and Russell Biggar. She was born and grew up in Ottawa but made regular trips to visit family in Waterford and on the Biggar farm in Mount Pleasant. She shared stories of her wonderful times playing with her cousins and chasing the baby pigs. Given her loving heart and strength, it was not any surprise that she pursued a career in nursing. After receiving her nursing training at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, she worked at Ottawa Civic Hospital and in Owen Sound until she had children. She chose to stay at home and used her nursing skills raising her children. In addition to caring for her family, she loved to help others whether with a meal or a simple smile. Her love radiated in everything she did.
She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Murdoch, her daughter Sharyl Robertson-Cole, and her granddaughter Kathryn Stewart. She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her children John (Carolyn), Heather (Greg), and James (Laurie). She was an amazing grandma to Amanda (Matt), Chris (Meghan), William, Kristyn, Thomas, Maira, Paige, Geoff, Charlotte (Renny), Chris and great grandmother to Mackenize and Luca.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the support personnel at Post Inn Village, for the incredible, loving support provided to our mom in her stay.
