It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elaine Theresa McNeil on Monday January 19, 2026, at the age of 81 years. Elaine passed in her home surrounded by close family as a result of complications associated to her ten year battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia.
Elaine was preceded to heaven by her youngest brother Rick Dumouchelle. She is survived by the love of her life George McNeil whom she met and wed in 1967. Elaine is survived by her three children, Heather Roy of Dubai, UAE and husband Navin, Graham McNeil of Dundas, ON. And wife Marianne and Maureen Skinner of Georgetown ON. and husband Eric Skinner; six grandchildren: Nicholas, Georgia, Ethan, Callum, Eli and Charlotte.
Elaine was born in Windsor, Ontario, in 1944 to her parents Al and Gertrude Dumouchelle. She was the eldest of six children. Elaine was a brilliant mind, enrolling herself at the University of Windsor at a time when the higher education of women was not seen as a priority. She graduated with honors and went onto Nitangale School of Nursing, where she graduated top of her nursing class. She went onto serve her community as a a nurse for 52 years, ending her career as Acting Director of Care at the Bennett Centre in Georgetown Ontario.
