Ebba Krafczek June 1, 1944 - September 29, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ebba Krafczek (née Nickel) on September 29, 2025, age 81 years young at the Bethell Hospice in Inglewood.
Devoted wife of Audie for 61 years of marriage. Dedicated mother to her three children Bryan (Jennifer), Kristine (Derek) and Darren (Fleur) and beloved Oma to her grandchildren Mitchell (Edward), Katelynn and Spencer and her step-grandchildren Conor (Hamish), Taylor (Chazz) and Bryson. She was also an awesome Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Willi Max Ludwig and Elisabeth Bertha Nickel (née Schramm) and her three brothers Peter, Karl and Fred and is survived by her eldest sister Toni and closest sister Hanne.
Ebba Friederike Nickel was born in Lerchenborn, Germany, the youngest of six children. The family arrived in Canada in 1953 when Ebba was nine years old. She grew up in Toronto where she met and married Audie at the tender age of 20. They eventually settled in Georgetown in 1975 where she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to being a full-time, at-home mother during her children’s formative years. Later in life, Ebba worked a variety of part-time jobs around town, eventually retiring from Walmart after 23 years of service working in the Women’s Dept. She was a committed worker who made people laugh (always having fun and making jokes) and was well-liked by all of her co-workers; described as one of a kind!
Ebba fought a complicated cancer battle, always with a positive attitude, a wicked sense of humour and never a complaint for what she endured… and NOT. ONE. TEAR. Her ever-so sharp mental strength and fierce spirit will most definitely be her lasting legacy and will forever inspire those who were touched by her. Forever in our hearts and minds, she will be dearly missed by all. Auf Wiedersehen Ebba, Mom, Oma.
Sincere gratitude and thanks goes to Drs. Paul and Debbie Zeni, along with the nurses and PSW caregivers from Acclaim Health Services, for their ultimate professionalism and care they provided our Mom and Dad.
The family would also like to sincerely thank Wendy Molnar and the amazing volunteers from Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (CASHh) for their time, advice, guidance and rides to appointments.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Dorothy Rankin (Intake Coordinator), Dr. Michael Gagnon, the nursing staff, PSW caregivers, the support staff and all of the volunteers at the Bethell Hospice for making our Mom (and our family) feel comforted, cared for, (and fed) every single day that we spent in their home.
In accordance to Ebba’s wishes there will be no funeral services and cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (CASHh) or the Bethell Hospice Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
