E. Ann Smith

Smith, E. Ann - passed away peacefully at home in Georgetown, Ontario, on June 16, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by the family she cherished above all.

Beloved wife of the late Jerry Smith for 47 years. Loving mother of Randy, Cal (Starr), and Angie. Devoted grandma of Matt, Kailei, Josh Elik, Aaron Smith, Robbie, Ryan, Emily and Melissa. Proud great grandma of Oliver, Rosie, Juniper and Marigold.

Ann is predeceased by her brothers Richard and Michael Christopher. She will be missed by her sister Barbara Christopher Quarry and by her nieces and nephews, from Texas to British Columbia.

Known for calling herself a “tough old bird,” Ann was as funny as she was beautiful. Her great sense of humour left a lasting impression, especially on Jerry, who always said that’s what he loved most about her.

Ann was a pillar of the Georgetown community. Together with Jerry, she volunteered at the local polls, participated in local events, and built a life full of purpose and connection.

Ann also made history as the first female Commanding Officer of the 756 Air Cadet Squadron in Georgetown, a role she embraced with the same confidence and leadership that defined her life. She also spent time in Fort Myers, Florida, where she worked as a teacher’s aide, nurturing young minds with warmth and wisdom.

Elegant, striking, and always impeccably put together, Ann carried her beauty with pride and poise throughout her life. A professional model, she never stopped turning heads or commanding attention with her grace and style. Whether she was teaching a high school charm and poise class or simply walking into a room, she embodied sophistication and strength in equal measure.

She lived every day with dignity, pride, and sparkle. Ann was not only admired—she was unforgettable. Her legacy of love, laughter, and timeless elegance will live on in all who knew her.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on August 30, 2025, at the Jones Funeral Home.
