Duncan Robinson

In the early morning hours of August 24, 2025 Duncan passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side.

Duncan was beloved husband to Earldine “Dean” (deceased, 2008) and much loved father to four daughters - Karen (Al, deceased), Marianne (Mark), Laurie (Gary) and Diane (John). He was brother to Patricia and Ken (Mary).

He will be dearly missed by his 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, the youngest born just weeks ago, who he unfortunately did not have the opportunity to meet.

As a younger man, Duncan worked hard, played hard and could dance the night away with anyone willing to take a turn around the dance floor with him. As he aged, he perfected the Tom Sawyer approach to completing many of his tasks! When he retired from driving truck, he became a woodchuck for a time, developing a fair firewood service. He enjoyed his garden and cutting the grass on his property on the 8th line.

Hawkeye, as he was known to many, enjoyed golf and loved to fish and hunt, usually on Manitoulin Island. He got his first deer at the age of 14 with his father‘s 30/30 rifle and his last deer at the age of 93 with that same rifle.

Dunc enjoyed a wide circle of friends of all ages and was always willing to raise a glass of “The Captain” with them. The Amica staff often told us he had more visitors than anyone in the place. Many thanks to the caring people at Amica who provided his daily care.

We will love you and miss you forever Dad but take comfort in knowing you’re once again in Mom’s arms, dancing together through the clouds.

Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905)877-3631 on Thursday September 4, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.  Funeral service will be held in the chapel Friday September 5th at 11:00 AM. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery, Norval. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Georgetown Hospital, Cancer Society, or the Townsend Smith Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
