Doris Joan Russell

Russell, Doris Joan – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Georgetown Hospital on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the age of 91.

Beloved wife of the late Ronald Russell for 65 wonderful years. Loving mother to Stephen (Deborah) and Diane Jolly (David). Cherished grandmother of Peter Jolly (Britni), Elizabeth Sarnacki (Max), and Sarah Jolly-Stolf (Tatiana). Proud great-grandmother (“GG”) to Chase, Madison, Emilia, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new great-grandson in the new year.

Dear sister of the late Doreen Wheeler, and fondly remembered by sister-in-law Eleanor Waterman. Doris shared a special bond with her niece Susan Wheeler-Hall (Jan), and she will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Doris found great joy in spending time with her family. She loved her cottage, gardening, quiet time with a book and joyful times playing the piano—often sharing her musical talents while volunteering with the Alzheimer Society.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Sanctuary Park Cemetery where Doris and Ron will be reunited once again. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
