IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR REMARKABLE MOTHER
DORIS MAE CROSSMAN AUG 20/1926 - APRIL 19 / 2015
Doris Mae Crossman a long time resident of Georgetown Ontario, died, with family around, peacefully in her own home on Sunday April 19/2015. Doris was born to the late Blanche and Leslie MacDonald on Aug 20/1926, and grew up on Prince Edward Island. She had fierce love for her 7 siblings, and road tripped "down home" on many summer vacations to spend time with them. She moved to Toronto in 1950, and married the late James MacDougal Crossman. They raised a beautiful family of 6 children, and they were the focus of Doris head, heart, and hands, for most of her living years. She was a remarkable woman of strength, who endured many hardships in her life, such as the passing of her late son Gary Leslie Crossman at the age of 18 yrs. However Doris was not a woman to sit back and wallow, she was full of perseverance and was determined to make it through life on her terms. She was a very hard working woman who took solace in a job well done; but also had a sense of humour that could take the" stink off of anybody." She loved to follow the weather, and you could always get the most recent forecast with just a quick call to Doris. She was a simple living lady, with a practical mind and an overflowing heart of love and kindness. Her selfless ways and her kind and caring nature were just a few things that made so many people love and respect her. She touched many people's lives and was a hero to her children. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her eldest daughter Ruth Connolly, husband Martin Connolly and their children Sean Connolly and Erin Connolly, her eldest son Stephen Crossman, and his sons Cody and MacKinnon Crossman, her daughter Sherri Crossman and her husband David Collie, and their children Koldin and Keagan Collie, son Jeffery Crossman and his son Justin Crossman and her daughter Stacey Cacciola (Crossman) and her children Olivia and Jonathon Cacciola. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Wednesday, April 22nd from 7-9 pm. A private family funeral will be held on Thursday April 23, 2015, followed by a burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Georgetown. In Memory contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. To send expressions of sympathy visit www.jsjonesandsonfuneralhome.com
