Banks, Doreen Lynn (née Fletcher)

Peacefully, on Sunday October 20, 2024 at Burloak Long Term Care, Burlington. Doreen, in her 74th year was the loving wife for 50 years to Terrance Arthur Banks (2018). Mother of Grant Beatty, Tracey (Neville) Root, and Lee (Laura) Banks. Loved granny of Sara Lynn Root, Cameron Root, Audrey Banks, and Lawrence Banks. Dear sister of Darlene Johnson, Debbie Lis, Diane Crowe, David Fletcher, and Daniel Fletcher. Doreen was predeceased by her brother Edward “Mickey” Rooney and by her sister Donna Patrick. Doreen spent most of her career devoted to her work as a Food Service Supervisor at Georgetown Hospital, alongside her dearest friend, Joanne. Doreen will be forever remembered by her family for her wonderful sense of humor, her generosity, impeccable style, and for the love that she had for her family - especially her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Doreen’s Life will be held at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Sunday October 27, 2024 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Trafalgar Room.

Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Assistance Service of Halton Hills (CASHH) would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
