Don

Donato “Don” Ricciuto, born on September 22, 1945, in Limosano (Molise), Italy, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, after a brief illness. At the age of 14, Don immigrated to Canada in 1959, where he built a successful life marked by love, dedication and many years of hard work as a hairdresser, contractor and craftsman.

Predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Maria, Don leaves behind a loving family who will always cherish his memory. He is survived by his beloved children Adriana (Andy), Ryan (Donia), and Donato "DJ" Junior who will always be grateful for his guidance, deep love and support. His love and pride for his grandchildren, Evan and Alexander, were immeasurable. Don is also survived by his sister Lilian, nephew Lee, niece Jennifer (Pino), great-niece Julia, and great-nephews Matthew, Michael, and Luke. His aunt Anna will also remember him fondly.

Don’s presence will be sorely missed by his closest and loving friends Alec, Marilyn, William, and Jacob, who shared many cherished moments and created beautiful memories with him over the years. Also left to mourn his loss are countless loyal and caring friends – we know they will miss his friendship greatly.

Known for his kind and giving nature, Don found joy in crafting masterpieces out of wood, a testament to his skill and patience. He loved the warmth of good company and the simple pleasures of sharing great conversation, a delicious meal and a glass of red wine with family and friends.

Don’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
