Donald Smith

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Donald Hugh Smith, on June 25, 2025, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Brush) for 55 years. Loving father of Jason (Joanna), Lindsey (Steve) Burt, and Steve (Frida). Loved Papa/Grampa of Owen, Connor, Ben, Hannah, Ryan, Meghan, Eila and Milo. He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family and many friends.

Don and Linda moved to Georgetown in 1972 from Chatham, Ontario. Throughout his many years living in Georgetown, Don was an active community member, as he was greatly involved in Knox Presbyterian Church, Georgetown Minor Hockey, Kinsmen, and the Rotary Club. Don loved to meet people, tell jokes, and put a smile on everyone’s face, but his family was the centre of his world. He loved to watch and was a big part of every sporting event, school concert, church activity and family celebration, always with a camera in his hand and a smile on his face. He will be incredibly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received at Jones Funeral Home, 115 Trafalgar Rd., Georgetown on Friday July 11 from 6-8. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday July 12, at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Don's name may be made to Knox Presbyterian Church or to SickKids Hospital.
