Dennis Arthur "Denny" Wright
Passed away on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at Extendicare Halton Hills in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Alcott) and Helen (nee Forrester). Much loved father of Dennis and his wife Joyce of Winnipeg and Patti Bodig and her husband Bob of Georgetown and step-son Jim Atkinson and his wife Maureen of Sauble Beach. Proud Poppa of Stephen, Rachel (Ryan), Jessica (Philippe), David (Nicole), Jeffrey and Julie (Andrew). Great-Poppa of Theo, Sebastian, James, Juliet, Timarie and Owen. Denny will be sadly missed by all of his extended family and friends. Denny was born in Cookstown Ontario, raised in Brampton and lived in Georgetown since 1947. He was a lifetime member and former president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 120, having served with the Royal Canadian Army during WWII. He worked for Varian Associates for many years and was very proud of being a part of the Avro Arrow Project. Denny was a volunteer with the Georgetown Ambulance Service, was an avid golfer and was "Santa's Helper" for many years. A very special thank you to Dr. Bourns and the caring staff at Extendicare Halton Hills during Dad's 8 years of residence there. Their genuine concern and affection for Dad was of great comfort to us and eased his passing.
Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Friday from 2-5 pm. Memorial service will be held in the chapel on Saturday March 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Cremation has taken place.
