Denise Shewell (née O’Donnell)
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with a neurological illness. Born to Anna and the late Pat O'Donnell, Denise was the beloved wife and best friend of Rob for 28 wonderful years. A devoted mother to Alec and Ryan, she poured her love, energy, and faith into her family and her community. Denise was a cherished sister to Lynne O'Donnell and Kyle O'Donnell, and a loving aunt to Callum and Allie O'Donnell, as well as Michael and Amanda Durdevic. She was a dear sister-in-law to Andrea O'Donnell, and Dave and Cathy Durdevic, and the treasured daughter-in-law of Ken and Jean Shewell. A woman of deep faith and quiet strength, Denise dedicated her life to nurturing children both at home and through her meaningful work in children's education. Her warmth, patience, and unwavering kindness touched many lives, leaving a legacy of love and compassion. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Denise’s life at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Monday, October 20, 2025, for visitation from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the Trafalgar Room. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Denise’s memory may be made to SickKids Foundation, a cause close to her heart. She will be remembered always for her faith, her love of children, and the grace with which she lived her life. Much recognition and thanks go out to all the caregivers at Extendicare Halton Hills – Wildwood House.
