It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Delbert Linstead, who passed away peacefully at his home in Limehouse on January 1, 2025, in his 83rd year.
Del was the best friend, devoted husband, and the love of Marilyn’s life for 61 (and a half) wonderful years. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his children, Lori and Jim (Janeen), and his cherished grandchildren, Will, Ella, and Max.
Predeceased by his siblings Helen (Bill), Shirley (Bill), Doris (Vern), and Bruce, Del will be dearly missed by his sister-in-law Donna, along with many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Del built a good life through his work at Bell Canada for 33 years, and in cash cropping and treasured the friendships and camaraderie he found through camping and winters spent at their home in Florida. He had a gift for making the most of every moment and was truly loving, caring, and full of life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Del’s memory may be made to Acton Foodshare, Georgetown Bread Basket, or Georgetown Hospital.
Del’s kindness, warmth, and love for life touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration to honour Del will be held on May 25, 2025 at the Hillsview Active Living Centre, 415 Queen Street, Acton between 1:00 - 4:00 pm. when all of his Snowbird friends are home.
