Kovachik, David John- Never saw anyone fight so hard to live so it's with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of Dave at age 69 on Tuesday, December 15th. He was a loving husband to Wendy for 47 years, a terrific father to David and his daughter-in-law, Crystal, and the best Grampie ever to Jade and Zoe. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Greta and Stephen John Kovachik and his son, Tim. He will be greatly missed by his brother, Steve (Lucy) and his brothers-in-law, Gary (Gay), Lee (Debbie), Rob (Terri) and his aunts MaryAnn, Marie and Irene, as well as many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews. He was blessed to have many amazing friends and kind neighbours. Luckily, Dave was able to enjoy an early retirement after many years at Kodak Canada, reaching the position of Vice President, and two years as President of Danka Canada. There was nothing more exciting for him than washing and waxing his car, going for bike rides with his buddy, Steve, walking his "dog friend," Fred and playing with his adorable grand daughters. His will to live was never stronger than three years ago when he suffered a stroke. His determination to come back from that was amazing. He will always be remembered and loved. We'd like to thank the doctors and nurses at Georgetown Hospital for the valiant effort they made the past few weeks. As per his wishes, cremation has already taken place and a celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at a future date. In Dave's memory, a donation to Georgetown Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
