Colin Kelly, December 3rd, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of a devoted Husband, proud Dad and much-loved Grandfather, Colin Francis Kelly. Colin passed, after a short stay, at Stayner Long Term Care Home in Collingwood, surrounded by the love of his family on December 3, 2025. He was born on December 26, 1943, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to Earl (d.1969) and Mary (Nantes) (d. 2001). Colin travelled to Toronto in 1962, meeting his “My Anne from Away” shortly thereafter, resulting in a nearly 60-year marriage. He is survived by Anne (Fraser), daughter Laurie (aka “Princess”) (Brad Hale), son Grant (aka “#1 Son”) (Sarah) and his pride and joy grandsons, James and Grant (aka “Tiger”) Hale, Jacob, Matthew and Braeden Kelly, and step-grandchildren, Joshua, Emily and Caralyn Hale. Colin is survived by brothers Gerry (Maureen, d. 2025), Gene (Winnie) and sister Virginia (Allan, d. 2023) Ellis. In addition to his parents, Colin was preceded by his sister Janet (d. 2017) (Lloyd, d. 2021) Gallant, his brothers Barry (d. 2023) (Guelda), Brian (d. 2023), (Marie) and sister-in-law Elaine (d. 1974). Colin was a much loved and respected brother-in-law to Anne’s 10 siblings. He loved his numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in both families across Ontario, Alberta, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and the United States. He was a true friend to many, always a gentleman and he would wish for us to acknowledge his 35-year working relationship with Ford Motor Company. We quote him “Ford was so good to me.” The family wishes to thank the staff at the Stayner LTC Home, Dr. Tawfik (Collingwood), Dr. Farragos and Dr. Kennedy (Georgetown) for their care and compassion during Colin’s illnesses. A funeral mass will be held at the Holy Cross Parish, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown on December 23, 2025 @ 10.30 a.m., with Father Dave officiating. Reception will follow immediately in the Church Hall. Cremation has taken place.
The family requests that any donations be made to the Georgetown Food Bank (www.georgetownbreadbasket.ca) or Cancer Assistance Halton Hills (www.cancerassistance.org) or another charity of your choice in his memory.
Rest easy, Colin, Dad, Grandpa. You gave it your all. We love you and we will miss you.
