Caddies, Colin Alexander
Peacefully after a brief illness, on Friday August 29, 2025 at the Marotta Family Hospital, St. Catharines. Colin, of Orangeville, in is 58th year, beloved husband of Jackie (nee Kavanagh) for 24 years. Loved son of (late) Elizabeth Caddies, brother of Caroline and (late) John Vander Kooij, son-in-law of (late) William and Bonnie Kavanagh and brother-in-law of Gary & Deanna Peters and Uncle of Kaitlyn & Matthew Pezzetta and Trent Peters, aunts and cousins.
Colin Caddies, was a devoted loving husband and proud father of his fur babies, Sam, Amber, Saije & Chanel.
Colin enjoyed taking pride in what and those he loved. His career expanded into many years of love and compassion as a Recording Engineer both within his community and internationally. He was also a trusted musician and drummer for many years and travelled throughout Canada and the United States performing, band members that he will forever hold close, a beautiful family all on its own.
His heart and knowledge was incredibly infectious to those that were lucky enough to cross paths with him.
Colin was a loving and devoted husband whom just celebrated 24 years of marriage to his loving wife Jackie, they would often take last minute road trips which led to conversations about life and what meant most to the both of them. An avid hiker, he and Jackie loved to explore new pathways within the beauty of nature itself. Colin took up kayaking, where you would find him at Island Lake taking in the intimate sights you could only see from his view of the lake. It was his time to be still, listening to what was being spoken to him through natures gift.
Colin took pride in his backyard, always creating an oasis every summer, listening to music while the sunset was created in the backdrop, watching our fur babies soaking up the days blessings of life and love. During the heavy winters, you would find Colin helping neighbours in need with snow removal which created ever lasting friendships.
Colin loved to travel and his most memorable trips were Jamaica and Las Vegas in which he spoke of on many occasions, promising a smile with every story he told. Although he wasn’t able to return to create more meaningful memories, his spirit will continue to do so.
He leaves behind many relations, creating fond memories of family gatherings, celebrating special moments that were talked about year after year.
His last two months of life, he was able to have the beautiful opportunity to spend time with his sister Caroline in which they travelled around the Niagara Region taking in the special places he wanted to go.
Our hearts and minds will always hold the fond memories, especially the love that shall always remain leaving Colin’s spirit to live forever within us.
Soar high my beloved, for every song, for every tune, you shall be the beat of our hearts.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Colin’s Life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Upper Credit Humane Society, Erin would be greatly appreciated by the family.
