Clive Richter
Peacefully, and surrounded by his cherished daughter, her family, and the Bridge Boys, Clive passed away on December 29, 2025 — as he lived, His Way.
Clive, beloved son of the late Claud and Myrtle Richter, was born in Rhodesia and emigrated to Canada in 1966 as a teenager. Known affectionately as “Zulu,” Clive lived his life humbly, carrying a quiet strength and steady presence that drew people naturally to him. He possessed a rare, understated power — the kind that made others feel seen, safe, and inspired simply by being near him.
A strong mentor both physically and mentally, Clive was a grand teacher of Life. He had an extraordinary gift for helping people see the best in themselves and guiding them gently toward becoming it. His wisdom was never loud, but always lasting.
The bond Clive shared with his daughter, Alexis (Grant Clark), was everything to him and remains everlasting. His life was blessed again and again when Grant entered his world, and later when Clive became an adored Oupa to his grandsons, Lincoln Clive and Walker Michael, roles he cherished deeply.
An old soul who found beauty in life’s smallest moments, Clive remained the nicest man in the room right up until his final breath — connecting effortlessly with strangers, friends, and even healthcare workers. Those lucky enough to know him often found themselves living life on “Clive Nine” once he became part of their world.
Always puttering, Clive had a true green thumb and was a skilled contractor. In the final months of his life, he lovingly built his grandsons an incredible outdoor kitchen — a lasting testament to his hands, heart, and devotion to family. He found peace and meaning in nature, particularly in the presence of cardinals and red-tailed hawks, symbols that brought him comfort and quiet joy.
Clive will be dearly missed by his sister Charmaine; nieces Lisa and Krystal and their families; and by his great-nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by his cherished “found family,” the Bridge Boys: John (Joyce), Mike (Kim), Doug, Lorne (Linda), Mark (Sue), Keith (Trish), and Archie (Barb), whose friendship and brotherhood meant the world to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. A reception will follow.
Clive Richter lived with humility, purpose, and grace. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
