We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Christopher on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Georgetown Hospital. Chris, in his 87th year; loving and devoted husband to Annie. Chris will forever be cherished by his children Daniel Vandervoort (Sylvie Bordeleau) and Roseanne Vandervoort (Terry Fiddler). Grandfather of Julianne (Sean), Erika (Maxime), Marieve (Felipe), Autumn, and great grandfather of Searlas, Lucielle, Alphonse and Isidore. Chris will be dearly missed by his siblings Cathy Kelder (the late Klaas), Clara Oosterhof (Con), Harry Vandervoort (Linda) and his sister-in-law Jane. Predeceased by brother Jim Vandervoort and by sister-in-law Hilda. Chris was the epitome of a hard worker. He served the community as a school bus driver until age 82, and was a long time, loyal employee of Abitibi Paper Mill. An avid outdoorsman, Chris was a longtime member of the Guelph Gun Club, always enjoyed long walks through the forests of Terra Cotta, and spending time on canoe/ rafting trips. His toughest and favourite outdoor adventure was climbing the Chilkoot Trail with his brother Jim. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 7, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, 11611 Trafalgar Rd, Georgetown. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make charitable contributions in Chris' name to the Georgetown C.R.C. or the Kidney Foundation.
